Her son was the “rockstar” of the NICU and things were progressing well, until one night when Kyla noticed that her son was not acting like himself. Shortly after, she got the news that he had contracted an infection. Unfortunately, when her family got to meet him, it was also the same day they had to say goodbye. Kyla talks about how her and other moms who were brought together through the tragedy of child loss, recognized that grief support for fathers was very limited, so they came together to put on the Lionheart Golf Tournament, where funds raised will go towards providing better access to ongoing mental health resources for fathers who are grieving the loss of their children.
