The Spiritual Cupcake Podcast

Reachable vs. connected

Episode Summary

Candace reflects on the difference between being reachable and being truly connected. Inspired by a conversation with a spiritual teacher and something she recently heard Oprah discuss, she explores the pattern of always being available, supportive, and there for others—even when that same energy isn't reciprocated. This episode is an invitation to look at our own patterns, boundaries, and expectations around giving, and to reflect on whether we're experiencing genuine connection or have simply become accustomed to always being available.

Episode Notes

Candace recently heard Oprah talking about the difference between being reachable and being connected, and it immediately brought her back to a conversation she had with a spiritual teacher.

For a long time, Candace was incredibly reachable. If someone needed her, she was there. She offered support, showed up, listened, and made herself available. But she began to recognize that being available to people all the time didn't necessarily mean she felt connected to them—and sometimes that giving wasn't being reciprocated.

This episode is a reflection on the patterns we create, the wounds and beliefs that can influence how we show up for others, and what happens when we begin to change those patterns.

Being reachable doesn't always mean being connected.

Giving doesn't always have to come with the expectation of getting something back.

And sometimes creating healthier relationships starts with becoming a little more intentional about who we show up for and how.

A little invitation to pause and ask: Am I actually connected, or have I simply become really good at being reachable?
